It was a fantastic end to the UK Roller Derby Championships this year, with a win for our team in each of the four bouts played which made up the local Tier 4 rounds. These events follow the WFTDA rule set and are sanctioned here by UKRDA.
With a new coaching scheme in place and fresh tactics for 2018, the strategies for each game also incorporated an emphasis on specific roles for skaters which capitalised on their individual strengths and talents. You can see brilliant action photo's from all four of these bouts here.

So now it's summer and the skaters are on a short recess for a few weeks, but it doesn't stop there! Social events such as Stand-Up-Paddle-Boarding, an evening meal get-together and meet-ups at the local new and improved Central Park Skate Park are on the agenda for our members over the course of the summer.
There's also exciting plans afoot for some away games involving travel abroad and we're looking forward to seeing the fruits of our cooperation with SW1TV for a documentary on Roller Derby in the South West, which forms part of their series "Dont try this at home"! Keep checking in to find out what we're up to or follow us on Face Book.
